"ENCHANTING INDONESIA NIGHT" ROADSHOW IN BULGARIA DRAWS LARGE AUDIENCE
London, Nov 17 (ANTARA) - The beauty of Indonesian traditional dances performed by nine dancers from Kreisna Arsena Media Kreasi Studio along with an art team of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture on an "Enchanting Indonesia Night" roadshow in Bulgaria managed to draw a large audience there, an official said.
The show was held for three days in three cities namely Vratsa, Montana, and the National Palace of Culture (NDK) in Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, third secretary of the Indonesian Embassy in Sofia, Aditya Timoranto, said here Monday.
Aditya also explained that Indonesian ambassador, Mr Immanuel Robert Inkriwang and his wife attended the show which attracted not only ordinary people but private TV stations as well
The TV stations covered the whole show and held a special interview with the Indonesian ambassador during the last show.
Other guests came from Sofia University, Museums and academy of arts, members of the Nusantara Klub, members of the Bulgarian-Indonesian association, and other guests.
Inter-Cultural Dialogue Year
Deputy of the Bulgarian minister of culture Yavor Milushev, said that his government paid a keen attention to the inter-cultural dialogue. It could be seen in the Bulgarian government's announcement that 2008 was a year of inter-cultural dialogue in the European Union.
Yavor also expressed appreciation to the Indonesian Embassy and the art team from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism for holding the "Enchanting Indonesia Night" roadshow which supported the inter-cultural dialogue 2008 in Bulgaria.
In the roadshow, the Indonesian art team performed traditional dances such as the Jejer dance, Merak dance, Glipang dance, Bajidor kahot dance, Nandak ganjen dance, Piring dance, lenggang Nyai dance, and Saman dance.
Another art team under the sponsorship of the Indonesian Embassy, Pesona Mawar Nusantara (PMN), also performed traditional dances such as the Puspita dance and Tak Tong Tong dance.
On the "Enchanting Indonesia Night" show, Indonesian Ambassador Immanuel Inkriwang, said that the roadshow was a follow-up to the result of the meeting between Minister of Culture and Tourism, Jero Wacik, and his Bulgarian counterpart Prof Stefan Danailov, in March 2008.
The show was concluded in Sofia with a cocktail reception and traditional cakes from Indonesia.
